A couple of weeks ago I was watching a video of a well known basketball star saying things that didn’t reflect reality and was shocked to find out that what I was watching was a complete lie. I looked more closely at the channel which was “DangerousAI” and realized that they now have the ability to take any personality and make an artificial clone so realistic that no one can tell the difference. I watch quite a bit of Voddie Baucham and found out that his image and voice has been cloned by AI to the point no one knows for sure if that is what he is really teaching or if some of his words have been altered to deceive his real teachings.

I remember not long ago when people were warning about the dangers of AI and completely shrugged it off as being nothing more than paranoid. I no longer believe that. I was watching a YouTuber who put out a video on why he has switched from his written physical Bible to an electronic one with many of the comments made below it agreeing with him. If they can take a real person and make it impossible to tell the difference between him and an AI generated clone how easy would it be to take the Bible and subtly change key words or delete certain words to support a false doctrine?

This comes down to how easy would it be for Satan to use something like this to bring about the great deception that Jesus warned about in Matthew 24 and what Paul talks about in 2 Thessalonians where he says there will be signs and lying wonders to bring about strong delusion to deceive the whole world? I don’t want this to degrade into shouting back and forth about different views of prophecy. I don’t agree with some of the things Vodie Baucham teaches about the last days but his preaching of the gospel is as clear as anyone I have ever listened to.

Except one thing... We have had the scriptures around for centuries and we have been taught by them so that if anyone comes out with something that is off, which BTW has been happening since long before computers, we are able to pick up on it instantly. Whereas AI can make a person seem to say something and we wonder, "Did he really say that?" With the Word, we aren't so easily fooled unless we want to be.

What about a new generation of Christians that have never read the Bible before in their lives who may only read online Bibles? If Zondervan came out with a new edition of the NIV or Thomas Nelson came out with a new edition of the MacArthur Study Bible with words being altered or deleted, it would immediately be caught by multitudes of Christians. I doubt the same could be said of the changes in a digital text.

There's nothing special about an ebook that makes it easier to fool people by altering the text. That's magical thinking, not serious.

Counterfeit manuscripts have been around for millennia. That is why we study to show ourselves approved. That imperative extends to all generations.

The trend of using only digital texts is serious enough to at least warn people of the possible dangers. If I could take any well known Bible preacher and have him preach error on purpose using AI then nothing would preclude someone doing the same with digital Bible texts used by millions.

How do you know the well-known Bible preacher preaching error was generated by AI? Because someone spotted the error and exposed the fraud.

People familiar with the Bible--of which of necessity there will be more than a few, amongst those "millions"--will spot the errors, regardless of the medium.

Search “The Dangers of Praying in Bed” on YouTube. Can anyone tell me if John MacArthur, Billy Graham,
Kathryn Kulham, C.S. Lewis, Jordan Peterson and many others actually preached a sermon on this subject or none of them have.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call "The Twilight Zone".

I have never heard of this movie before which came out in 1988 but found a transcript of the movie and in the latter part of it the ruling elites say this. "By the year 2025 not only America but the entire planet will be under the protection and dominion of this power alliance."

Nah. Don't care enough to find out.

That's quite an eclectic list of speakers...

Do you listen all, some or none of these?

About a month ago I saw a video headline about Billy Graham preaching a sermon on the dangers of praying in bed. I took a quick look at it and thought it was stupid. A couple of days ago I noticed another video by John MacArthur on the same subject and thought it odd. I then did a search about the dangers of praying in bed and found out that numerous preachers had a sermon with the same title and realized something was up. It wasn't until I watched a video by Angel Reece put out by "Dangerous AI" that I realized someone was using Artificial Intelligence to make clones of real people that couldn't be distinguished from reality. It was a wake-up call to me.

How can any Christian know the difference between fake and reality any more? Unless you are some kind of tech nerd it is almost impossible to not get fooled with what is going on.

I don't think I have seen the full movie, just some clips here and there on YouTube and other sources. Perhaps the movie is prophetic and since it is based on the year 2025, we may need to watch the movie, get loaded up with bubble gum and bullets, and get ready!

Bummer. I don't have any bubble gum.

I don't have the know how of generating a video to go along with a speech by someone but here is a speech I asked ChatGpt to generate on "The Dangers of Praying in Bed" by Donald Trump. I'm sure someone with the knowledge of cloning an image of Donald Trump would be able to pass it off as a genuine video with no one even questioning that he made that speech because AI now has the ability to blur fantasy with reality.

Speech by Donald J. Trump
On the Dangers of Praying in Bed
Rally in Sleepy Hollow, NY

"Ladies and gentlemen — thank you, thank you very much. What a tremendous crowd — I haven’t seen this many people since the last time CNN said I’d never win. (crowd cheers)
Now look, I want to talk about something very serious tonight. Nobody talks about it, but I will. Because I’m honest. Because I care about America. And because I don’t fall asleep when I pray.
We have a big problem in this country. It's called praying in bed. That's right. It’s dangerous. Very dangerous. You start with good intentions — very good intentions — the best intentions, people tell me — and then what happens? You fall asleep. That’s what happens! And nobody’s talking about it!
People say, ‘Oh, but Mr. Trump, isn’t it peaceful to pray in bed?’ And I say, look — if you want peaceful, try staying awake first, okay? You lie down, you close your eyes, you say ‘Dear God,’ and by the time you get to ‘Amen,’ you’re drooling on the pillow. Not good!
I’ve prayed in some very nice places — beautiful places. Churches, gold ceilings, the best stained glass you’ve ever seen. But never in bed. Because I stay alert. I stay focused. That’s how you talk to the Big Guy upstairs — standing up, maybe on one knee, like a winner. Not snoring like Sleepy Joe.

And by the way, some people say I never sleep. That’s because I pray on my feet. It keeps me sharp. Keeps me strong. And that’s why we’re going to bring respect back to prayer in America, folks. We’re going to make prayer strong again. We’re going to make upright prayer great again! So do me a favor — tonight, before you go to sleep — don’t pray in bed. Get up. Sit in a chair. Go to a desk. Pray like a champion. Show some discipline. And together — with your eyes open — we will keep America awake again! God bless you.

God bless prayer. And God bless the United States of America!"

I don't see how a series of fake speeches on a moronic subject means we can't trust an electronic Bible, probably the best known and most studied document in history. You sound like Jack Chick claiming the Jesuits snuck the Apocrypha into the Authorized Version without the translators noticing.

There is a new generation of Christians who have never read a Bible, know nothing about the Bible and get almost everything they know online. The idea of encouraging new Christians to avoid a physical Bible for whatever they may find online is not doing them or anybody else any favors. I never said I was against digital Bibles, only pointing out the dangers of dumping the written word for whatever online text they may fall upon. Many like myself are just beginning to realize how deceptive modern AI can be. I respect your opinion though.
